ABOUT Ashot Dumanyan
Ashot Dumanyan was born and raised in the vibrant and culturally rich city of Yerevan, Armenia where he started his journey as a violinist at the tender age of 6 years old. Recognized for his talent and commitment as a young adult, he was chosen to receive a scholarship to attend Yerevan's Tchaikovsky Music School where his passion for violin grew into a professional pursuit. After graduating, he further cultivated his knowledge in music at Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan as a teacher's assistant while earning a Bachelor’s Degree, followed by a Master of Music in Violin Performance and Education.
After completing his formal education in 2010, Ashot spent a few years internationally touring with Armenian State Symphony Orchestra (ASSO) where he performed classical masterpieces at premier entertainment venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Dolby Theatre, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin, Grand Théâtre de Québec, Odessa Philharmonic Theatre, BOZAR Theatre, Chicago Symphony Center, Boston Symphony Hall, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Roy Thomson Hall and Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall.
In 2013, Ashot moved to New York City where he performed with world-renowned Shen Yun Performing Arts and conducted group classes for orchestra members before relocating to California. Ashot has performed as a participating violinist in West Dean Chamber Music Festival, North Norfolk Music Festival, Young Euro Classic, Vardanyan Quartet, Belfry Symphony Orchestra, UCLA Philharmonic, Dream Orchestra, Santa Clarita Philharmonic, Afro-American Chamber Music Society Orchestra and LA Chamber Music Company. Asho't’s favorite classical composers and musicians include Bach, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius and Ravel.
In 2022, Ashot released his first single and violin cover of “Young and Beautiful” which he arranged for string orchestra, currently available on all music streaming platforms. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of working under the instruction of master musicians such as Bagrat Vardanyan, Levon Chilingirian and Simon Rowland-Jones. He’s also had the honor of collaborating with leading composers and maestros including Sergey Smbaytan, Vladimir Spivakov, Maxim Vengerov, Mark Gorenstein, Marko Boemi, Isaak Karaptchewski, Christopher Woren Green, Vig Zartman and Karen Durgaryan.
Currently, Ashot resides in Los Angeles and keeps busy as a private music instructor, event performer and Concertmaster of Voce dell'Orchestra. He is also the co-founder of Enchanted Strings, providing the finest live music ensembles to weddings and special events throughout Southern California. When he is not busy creating music or mentoring his wonderful students, Ashot spends his free time playing soccer and traveling with his wife.
